IT Code Fair 2026

The brief
CDU Sydney’s flagship annual IT event needed one look across invitation, posters, lanyards and certificates, and it had to sit politely next to the university’s own marks.
The system
Square brackets as the recurring mark, a cream ground, navy type and one crimson accent. Mono caps for metadata, serif for anything a person reads out loud.
The result
One family from the first invitation to the last certificate, so the thing you walk in with and the thing you take home feel like one decision.
Process
Eight rounds, one quiet poster.
Eight versions went to the committee, from a code-editor invitation to wall-sized SOFT LAUNCH type. Each round took something away, and we came back to the first, quietest direction for print.

Twelve logo directions and ten animated reveals for a brand-new club, in light and dark. I used Claude as a design partner: I wrote the brief, chose the direction and refined it into a system the committee could use.
As the club’s first elected Secretary I was also writing the constitution and opening the bank account, so the mark had to work before the club had held a single event.
